About UsDynamic Life Chiropractic was founded with the mission of teaching our patients how to build and maintain health, and in the process feel better than they ever have before! My name is Dr. Daniel Judge. I grew up in Ferndale and my wife grew up in Berkley, so when it was time for us to establish ourselves in an area long-term, Birmingham was a natural fit. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In 2002, I moved to St. Louis, Missouri where I attended graduate school at Logan College of Chiropractic. I graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. After graduation, I had an excellent opportunity to work with one of the giants in our field for two years. My wife and I moved to Mount Vernon, Washington, where I worked with Dr. Michael Lenarz, author of The Chiropractic Way. Along the way our daughter was born, so we decided it was time to return home to the Detroit area. Like many other chiropractors, I became a doctor of chiropractic because of the transformative effect it had on my life. Even more powerful than my initial experience with chiropractic, was the experience that led me to practice Upper Cervical Care, a specialty within chiropractic. During my last year at chiropractic school I began to have severe vision problems in my left eye. It felt like I was looking through water with one eye. It was frightening and debilitating. I went to an optometrist, then an ophthalmologist, then a retinal specialist, then a neurologist. I had a MRI, a nerve conduction test, and many other procedures. "All the tests were negative," they said, "but the symptoms fit with the onset of Multiple Sclerosis (MS)." I had been receiving chiropractic treatment but never a special type of care known as Upper Cervical Chiropractic. This approach makes a highly detailed study of the upper neck. If bones in the upper neck are "out of alignment," it creates a "short circuit" in the spinal cord, literally disconnecting your brain from communicating clearly with the rest of your body. It can lead to back pain, tingling and numbness, neck pain, headaches, and even visual disturbances. I sought out an Upper Cervical (neck) Specialist and he confirmed that, indeed, my neck was out of alignment. After the first correction, my vision improved! Within 3 months, my vision was back to normal! I did not have MS after all. I had a severe misalignment in my neck. From that point on, I knew my purpose: I want to give other people the same chance to be happy and healthy that I had. My mission is to remove these misalignments in the spine so that my patients can have a healthy, dynamic life! |
