Back Pain, Back Ache, Pinched Nerve, Sciatica Relief, Sciatica Treatment, Lower Back PainStatistics show that 80% of people will have back pain at some time in their life. It is extremely common. Back pain is reported to be the number one reason for disability in the world. Is there anything a person can do to relieve back pain or possibly prevent it from happening?

The answer to that is yes. A person can have a measure of control over what happens to their physical health. One way is by being aware of what type of food is being put into the body. Poor dietary choices can affect your health in a negative way. Proper nutrition can help keep overall health at its optimum level. So, where can a person start?

Avoiding processed food and beverages is a huge step in the right direction. Here is a list of particular things to watch out for and stay away from.

  • Sugar
  • White bread
  • Gluten
  • Trans fats
  • Pasta
  • 2% or whole milk
  • Omega 6 fatty acids
  • MSG
  • Alcohol

This may seem a bit overwhelming. The easiest way to go about this, however, is to start by cutting out one thing at a time. In particular, if you can remove processed foods from your diet, you will be making progress toward gaining better health.

Another thing to be aware of is vitamin D deficiency. This can lead to pain in the lower part of the back. Vitamin D is quite easy to obtain. The sun is our best source of vitamin D, so, try sitting outside for about 20 minutes a day. You can also supplement with vitamin D that you can get over-the-counter.

A very important thing on your way to better health and less back pain is to make an appointment to see an upper cervical chiropractor. At Dynamic Life Chiropractic, we are specifically trained in the Blair technique to examine the upper neck and detect misalignments that may have occurred there. These misalignments can lead to changes in posture and may be the root cause of back pain. We will realign the spine, helping the body to heal.
